here's one for ya

Post by Trunkster »

Just had a week in Cornwall and while I was there my indicators packed up! The green light comes on on the dash board but not flashing. I pulled over and non of the indicators came on at all. I tried the hazerd lights switch and nothing.. When I got back to the site all my light's work fine exept for the indicators and rear fog lights. I tested the fuses and the first 5 from the left (grey) have no power to them and they have not blown. There is only one relay in the back of the fuse box and that is in position 2. There is power to the hazard light switch. Its a 1980 air cooled! Any one have any idea's? Thanx :?

Hello,

I'm pretty sure you should have an indicator flasher unit in position 12 in the relay board which provides the flashing. Fuses for indicators and hazard lights are in position 9 and 11. Are you sure your foglight was working before? It sounds a bit like your flasher unit is missing, but if not then I would suggest securing all the multi connectors in the back of the fuse box. It has been known for my van to become mysteriously stuffed full of rubbish, making it difficult to close, and potentially causing fusebox problems!

Hope you solve the problem

Ewen

Fuse 11 should be for the indicators, but if you have no hazards then it sounds like the relay has packed up. It should be in relay position 1 the left hand relay above the fuses.
