Van won't start, turns over but won't fire

Post by vaguelyfamiliar »

We're on holiday in Cornwall in our t25 at the moment and after a day or two of rain the van won't start.
It turns over but just won't fire, almost as if it's too damp to spark

Any suggestions if not started by the time we come home I can get the RAC out but if there's something I can try I can give it a go? Although fairly limited in tools I have socket set / screwdrivers to hand

It's an 88 2l petrol

Apologies of this has been asked / answered previously but on iPhone 3G with limited connectivity

if you suspect damp then wd40
basics are fuel, air, spark which is what rac man will check
either 1.9 with carb or 2.1 with fuel injection originally, really helps to know engine code

Thanks, will give it a spray with wd40

Not sure engine code but it's the 1.9 carbed petrol

A 1988 1915cc water-cooled petrol with a Pierburg carb .... Probably a DG
