Hi, I'm pretty new to the VW scene and have only owned my T25 for a few months. It's a 1988 1.9 watercooled camper. I'll be driving along and suddenly the van will lose all power. It will still rev in neutral and only at full throttle when in gear. This then gets a lot worse very quickly and soon doesn't even stay at tick over. It then takes about a day before the van works as it did before, but the problem is slowly getting worse each time it happens.
At first I thought it was a problem with the fuel but I've replaced most of the parts to do with the fuel line, including the pump and fuel filter and still have the persisting problem.
Any advice gratefully received
Cheers
T25 1.9 sudden loss of power

Re: T25 1.9 sudden loss of power
I had a similar issue to the point where it would cut out and take a few minutes to restart.
I rebuilt the carb and serviced it with no joy. I then replaced the coil (after speaking to Brickwerks they said i had a part numbered that they hadnt seen on a T25 before) and ignition amplifier and touch wood its behaved ever since. There is an earth point below the coil and I cleaned that up also
