Re: And now for something different Breslau Rallye Raid 2013
Now, having a look around a reading stuff.
The costing etc is for this years event which is being held in Bulgaria, the extreme and cross country vehicles will be competing at the same time.
To do the cross country course of 1650 km off road with 150 km travelling on tarmac for 1 car, driver and co-pilot the cost is 1841 eur, they are not interchangeable.
Support - for 1 vehicle <7.5 t and 1 person is 495 eur and additional support personnal are at a cost of 395 eur each.
I can't see any detail regarding the service team being limited to a certain number of people.
A quick costing for fuel to drive the event came out at 500 eur.
There is a drop off service for the car and atm they detail drop off, pick up in Leipzig area at a cost of 1200 eur, flights to have been priced at approx 150 - 200 eur.

That's minimum of 5000E for starters.
Okay, okay, I'll ask.........
"Are the two having the fun (ie driving the event) paying?"
Maybe you'd be better off entering both vehicles, loaded with spares, & just splitting the costs.
May not work out much different in cost & four of you have the fun.

In which case, probably panel-vans would be best, tools, spares & a simple light-weight bed for 2.

Is there anyone on the list who has actually had or held an international competition licence or even competed in speed events/rallies etc? Just a question?

Re: And now for something different Breslau Rallye Raid 2013
The German one is shorter, 2 and half days and cheaper approx 900 euros per car and drivers, support may also be or if it's the same run a team of cars with their own spares plus getting there and back would be cheaper and we have more contacts on the ground in case of trouble??

You can get the E111 medical thing but I doubt if it covers sporting events

Thought there was an insurance option in the event to cover personal injury ?? Plus could be compensated with travel insurance??

E111's are now a thing of the past; invalid since 2006. Think its now called EHIC or something.

Yeah I think you are right. I filled in a form for something like that last week for health insurance for the forthcoming holidays in France
Another thing I was thinking about. I used to compete in single seaters back in the late 80's and early 90's and on one occasion I competed in an 'endurance' style event. Flat out under race conditions for an hour - I was completely knackered afterwards. If any of these stages are anything like the Dakar, the drivers would want to be fit, really fit and be completely free of alien stimulants!

ive got like a little blue credit card over here, called a EU health card should be standard across the whole of the EU
it says on it that it covers all necesarry doctor and hospital treatment inside the EU
its basically just an EU copy of your NI card
