Westy pop top gas strut uk supplier? Urgent!

Post by ninja.turtle007 »

Basically the gas strut kit I ordered from America at the end of July has gone missing in the post and no way will the second kit be here by Thursday.

We are off for 3 weeks round Europe and we have a roof box and kayak but unless I can get hold of a kit very quickly one or both will be staying behind.

Is there any uk firms that do these?

Thanks

Try this lot, they have a technical department who are very good, they did me 4 for my pop top and they were delivered within 24 hours.

Good thinking, I'll give him a try.

It was good to see you yesterday, thanks for coming down. :ok I would have called or text you but I didn't know at what time you would get a chance to grab some shut eye.

It seems thet there is no one in the UK that does the brackets.

However, even though my order from America was lost in the post, i got a custom bill today and was able to collect from my local depot. :ok

They are are really good. Even with a fully loaded roof box and Kayak it is still easier to lift than an empty roof without struts.

I have had them on mine for a couple of years now and can vouch they last too :ok

Have your struts got a part number on them. The ones I got from Futbus are useless if there is anything on the roof of weight.

From memory the HD struts are 160 and the standard are 120. I'm not sure what the units refer to.

With the HD's fitted I can like the roof by myself with a kayak and a fully loaded 2.25m roof box.
