Clutch slave cylinder for syncro

Post by ericos_bob »

I wanted to buy a replacement from an online vendor and they state the same part number for both the syncro and 2wd vanagon slave cylinder . Part number is 251.721.263. I thought I could just remove the slave from my spare t3 but found out pretty quickly they are different. Anyone know if this is the right part number for the syncro slave cylinder? cheers :ok

251 721 263 is the number, two versions fag or ate originally, ate is nicer one, and the good reproduction ones are ate copies
what's the problem you are finding ?

cheers for the help aidan :ok I went ahead and ordered one but unsure which version it is. The slave cylinder appeared to be leaking brake fluid past the piston so I guess it's just worn out. In the mean time I was able to modify the 2wd slave cylinder to make it work with the syncro by cutting down the actuating shaft by 10mm and adding a thick washer as a spacer where the fluid hose attaches.
