JX Vacuum Pump

Post by chrisurf44 »

Ok, I've gone and broken the plastic pipe spigot on the cover of my vacuum pump on my JX diesel engine. VW stopped making them in 2008 and i can't find one anywhere. Anyone know where might have the cover or how to make an alternative repair?

Thanks
Chris

Hmmm, did think about super glue but having just had the engine completely rebuilt I didn't want to bodge it. I have see whole pumps on ebay or justkampers but not just the cover.

That would be excellent if you have one. Let me know if you manage to find one.

Thanks very much

Get a pair of mole grips around the metal suround of the plastic spout. twist it off. Go to any breakers and take one off any VW/ Audi diesel. Ten a penny. To put her back on use a deep socket or metal tube.
