Rec. please for engine rebuild Edinburgh area

Hi folks - can anyone recommend a good trusty mechanic for engine rebuild of 1982 2L Aircooled engine - needs new cylinder head, piston, barrel and gasket kit. All a rather long story about how I ( the van!) am in this sorry state having had the engine rebuilt last year.
Speaking with people with experience of these engines is raising doubt about the original rebuild and whether I should look elsewhere to get this work done.
Appreciate suggestions.

There's a gentleman called Laurie Pettit in Berwickshire (not too far from yourself), who is very well regarded on the forums.
