Bolt for rear suspension
Im trying to take the rear suspension trailing arm off my van but I can't loosen the bolt that sits on the outside I have undone the inner one I've snapped a socket and rapped my knuckles already so I'm wondering If I can grind the head off and punch the rest through? I'm going to be putting new bolts etc in

Re: Bolt for rear suspension
You will be lucky.
More often than not the bolts are seized in and you will need to get a thin cutting disc on the inside of the brackets and cut the bolts off then. You will have to replace the bushes then though.

Re: Bolt for rear suspension
Sometimes they can be punched through although highly unlikely as they generally seize in the metal sleeve inside the bush. Mine shifted with a clout though
A local bolt supplier had a replacement bolt so that wasn't an issue.

I'm replacing the bushes and bolts anyway so it doesn't matter if they get damaged I will give it a go and see Wat happens
