Help Needed 1.6jx td fuel pump issues

Ok, probably posting in the wrong place so apologies if I am, but I come to the font of all T3/25 knowledge looking for answers.
Drove from Bristol to Stowmarket late yesterday, stopped a few times on way, no issues.
Stopped for fuel as had half a tank but was going to do a few miles so decided top up with diesel, and yes I did get diesel and none of yer supermarket stuff either.
Went to restart and turned it over, and over, and over, and over all to no avail. Called RAC, after some checks fiddling etc they have diagnosed fuel pump issues.
Came to that conclusion as he cracked off injector pipes to check fuel getting through, it is but just not enough pressure to get it started.

So my question to the font is have RAC and I missed something obvious and hopefully simple that will resolve the issue?

First thing I'd check are the bleed off/return lines from each injector.
They are cotton covered rubber tubes that perish and go porous.
This porosity lets the fuel drain away from the pump causing starting issues.

It may be your problem and it's a cheap fix.

Check all of your pipes in the engine bay, also you could check your fuel filter. Is it: on tight enough; drain any excess water out of the bottom (if it is that type; or replace it.
