I want to change the turbo to air filter setup on my van with a 1Z conversion, this could be the problem to why it's lacking power. Found that one of the tubes is cracked... and letting air in or out. It also leaks oil. Thinking that this setup is not good. What I have is a 90 degree pipe from the turbo connected to what looks like the original tube from the 1Z, which has been cut down to accommodate the 90 degree JX tube that goes to the MAC then to the air filter. The JX tube has been bodged to accommodate other tubes..
This is the top part of it...
What is the best way to do this and what parts do I need?
Thanks... did think of that... but I was wanting to change the top JX tube too, as it has been bodged and leaks oil... not a bad idea but thought there could be better ideas for setups.
I've previously received images of engine setups but I cannot see from them how it's been done.
They breath well, but can apparantly shorten the life of your MAF and do let through more particles than a standard paper type filter.
I have fitted mine in behind the other light, means a longer run of pipe but will enable you to fit a chargecooler/intercooler nearer the turbo when you decide to do that
