sleepy spot - Loch Lomond
As title. Anyone got any sleepy spots round Loch Lomond? I know it's a bit difficult in that area and there are plenty of camp sites but they want min 2 nights. Just need somewhere for one night on our way to Ullapool. (Can't seem to download the POIs (flipping Apple!))

East coast is no camping now, and it's a heck of a detour anyhow.
Some laybys on west side set back from road, not sure if signage advising against as didn't stop in any, sorry not much help...

Cheers Kelvyn. We had hoped to do Ullapool in two nights but can't set off until a day later now, so are down to one stop as we have a ferry to catch on Monday morning. I'm sure we'll find somewhere.

Hi Carolyn the car park next to the hotel in Tarbet is ok for an overnighter, looking onto Ben Lomond, its opposite the Tarbet hotel just as you turn right where the road forks A83/A82. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?oe=utf-8& ... CA4Q8gEwAQ" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Coool pub few miles up the road too if your passing by http://www.thedroversinn.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Most of the layby's (there's lots of them set back from road sheltered by trees) on the west side/A82 have a handful of campers/caravans most nights, but there is one that seems to always have a more permanent traveller presence...easily spotted by the caravans accompanied by transits
Just 30 miles further up the road you also have Rannoch Moor - one of the greatest drives, and also lots of great sleep spots

Cheers Brian. Looks good, but I think we are now going up the east side and overnighting either at Loch Leven or Newburgh near Perth. Some likely spots there according to google earth.
