After asking for advice on another thread regarding getting through Rouen travelling from Calais to the Vendee in a T25 AutoSleeper, I have been advised regarding height restriction underpasses in the area. Does anyone have any knowledge about these, and if so any tips please. We'll probably be using a SatNav together with an Atlas.
Thanks,
Charlie.

Went through a few French Cities with these a couple of weeks back. Usually around 2.5 meters clearance.
They always seem to have an escape lane right at the beginning so you can go around if your not sure and you find yourself in the wrong lane. Just look for the break in the raised section along the right side of the carriageway. Sat Nav will guide you through the underpass so best to bear right at the entrance and go around. Sat Nav should detect the route change and get you on your way.

Thanks for that Mudlark, I've got to say that in all the years we went through Rouen, (prior to SatNavs) we never actually saw a low underpass, but re-assuring to know there is an escape lane, just in case our SatNav does try and take us through one.
Hopefully though it will take us through the route we remember.
Charlie.

Yes we have experience of these. About four years ago I unfortunately found myself at the front of a convoy of T25s. Trying to get through Rouen using both Sat Nav and maps, we found the main problem was that where the sat nav was telling us to turn left, they had turned into a one way street going the other way! We were driving along when I suddenly saw the sat nav was telling us to take a left, so we promptly did, only to find ourselves heading straight for an underpass tunnel with foot high kerbs on both sides! Disco Dave was behind us with a kite buggy on the back of his high top T4, followed by three other T25s. He managed to get through but the cover on the kite buggy didn't survive! Needless to say there are several people who now shiver when you mention Rouen!! (Just ask Mr Hulley!)
