I had t- his problem ages ago in an Audi 80 petrol 2L - turned out to be the air intake side that had a problem. Just a thought.

I was thinking in a similar vein, air intake problem creating overfuelling. Could be pull down unit. This is why I thought it would be a good idea to test the ingnition amp before splashing out 20-30 squidlies on something not needed. (I wasnt suggesting to blast it with a paint stripper as this would be bad but to just keep it at normal running temp with a lighlty applied heat source). I cant see how it can cool down quickly enough with a standing warm engine which normally generates more heat even after switch off to alter any problems with the amp.

I had similar. Mine was the wire to the fuel shut off was losing its volts at about 10 minutes and shutting the fuel to the carb off. It would then refire but not idle.If I left the engine 10-15 mins it would restart but give it ten mins and off it'd go. Ran a wire from the coil to the fuel shut off thingy and it cured it.
