Urgent advice needed! Something is about to go :(
We have just got down to Paris in the Firetruck and a box on the fusebox has started clicking randomly. When you touch it you can feel it clicking. Its the black box about an inch square to the right of the fusebox directly above fuses 19 and 20. Mine has got a white 21 written on it.
What does it do?
What does it do?

Sounds like relay number 21. Unplug it and see what doesn't work anymore!

What year is your fire truck? Maybe the relay is for your blue flashing lights?!

So what does relay 21 do Bob? I couldn't find any reference to it either. Maybe not as urgent as op originally suggested?

Re: Urgent advice needed! Something is about to go :(
cheers for that lads, after looking at these replies I've checked and its the indicators. They are working fine, but the switch is chattering away (you can feel it).
I went to a VW garage but it was obviously closed
They probably won't have one in stock anyway, so I'm carrying on down to Spain on Monday and I'll order one in (I'm there for a couple of weeks).
Sorry about the late reply, I've been charged over a tenner already today for having the phone on roam, so I've waited until the free campsite wifi.

Does that mean it's no.12 relay that's clicking, rather than 21?

that's what's strange, its in the position of no 12 in the diagram but its got 21 on it. When I put the indicators on its clicking, but its also clattering away when they are not on. I now need to check to see if the indicators are stuttering when its doing this.Nicola&Tony wrote:Does that mean it's no.12 relay that's clicking, rather than 21?

Not sure where you are heading but I'm in Barcelona (Sabadell) if you get stuck or need help.

We're in Calonge, so not too far

It's been ok so far, a sort of intermittent, intermittent clattering if you get my drift.

They crop up on ebay all the time, at least 15 on there now all for less than £5. At that price worth ordering and getting it posted to your Spain address maybe.

seems to be working ok at the minute, I might try risking it. I've looked at the map and there's only one left turn at Calais.
