donciuz wrote:Hi, today i fired up mine and drove her home. Started in the garage at 8am and finished just an hour ago, so about 17hours of work. During that time we managed to make the loom, wire the engine, start up, find and remove faults and drive home. Lots still to do, as intercooler is not mounted yet. Yes the OBDII connector goes through the immo wire into the ECU. And other two are positive and negative terminals. If you need i will check which ecu pin.
Starting just for a few seconds sounds like the immo problem.
Good luck tommorow.

cheers .. was thinking of by passing the inter cooler as well to get me home ....

did you still have the clocks from the donor car in yours ?

back in garage now .. heavy night .. but need to crack on .. (all by myself again ... )

I have original clocks in mine and everything is connected and work. No original engine loom left in the engine bay. I connected glow plug light, alternator, rev counter, both oil pressure sensors, temperature and water level sensors through 7pin and 3pin connectors into t25 loom (in the black box).
Now i just have two engine faults to deal with one of them is no EGR.

Is yours the one with imob in the clocks, or a stand alone unit?

No black box mate

Thanks to elvis for sending me a wiring picture. Found that I had no positive to immobiliser !!! Sorted that and it chuffed into life.

A bit smokey. But have read that happens. But will look into that later.

Have mounted inter cooler over gearbox for now. Had to make some boost pipes up

ImageUploadedByTapatalk1343590268.613065.jpg

And that's how I did my throttle for now. Works ok. Will update later !

Still need to figure our wiring on alternator

And maybe get temp gauge working before go for test drive

Beer now

Yes that's what I want to do at some point.

Just got to get home now

Any tips on wiring alternator ? Thought I could just run blue wire to alternator ?

Hello,

in case it helps, here's a schematic of the vac system you should use (not mine, but not sure who to attribute it to) - ignore the N239 (and associated t-piece) if you don't have an Anti-shudder valve. You should have the N18 for EGR and N75 and this shows how they work pretty well I think. Hope it helps:

Good luck with it all - hope the faults all clear.

Hello,

The actuator on the turbo is controlled by vacuum - the top connection on the N75 valve is the vacuum and the bottom connection is the atmospheric pressure. Same for the N18 (EGR) valve. The ECU has an "actuation cycle" which causes the solenoid to alternate between vacuum source and atmospheric pressure at up to 50 times a second to create exactly the vacuum that is need for the actuator to control the vanes on the turbo - this is the vacuum which is send by the internal solenoid to the middle connection on the valve.

Hope that makes some sense

ok , so ecu reads boost / map then controls actuator which in turn changes boost ...

makes sense... time to go plumb it in...
