bellhousing breather pipe Q

My diesel bellhousing had two quite big breather pipes coming off it, one at about 3 oclock and one at about 12 oclock. The one at 12 oclock i have had to remove due to the new location of my oil filter.
I presume this won't cause any issues? Will it be a problem wading? Or are these missing off most peoples vans anyway?

wading breathers Lloydy; prevents water being sucked in when you go through the wet stuff. Without them water will go in through the air inlets; if you block them off water can get sucked in round the seals due to pressure differences arising from the hot metal lumps getting doused in cold water.

Resulting silt and muck can play havoc with your clutch.
