I've recently bought my first van, a US 1986 Vanagon GL Westy and am happy with it mechanically,bodywork etc. I'm looking for somewhere local to me (Croydon/Surrey area) that can check over the underslung LPG tank,all valves and lines,the onboard appliances, night heater (trumatic) and check over all the electrics/mains hook up, wiring etc to make sure it's all good for UK/European site use. I've also got an aircon unit that seems to be working (fans turning etc) but not blowing cold so a service and recharge is probably needed here as well. Would like to get out and about in August to shows etc with peace of mind that all is working properly and safely on board! Wasn't given too much paperwork on purchase (just essentials,no manuals) so their history and how long its stood since last use is unknown.
Any advice on who/where to take it?
While i'm here it could also do with a wax seal on the underside and a new canvas for the poptop roof (it's old/tired). Any recommmendations here? Sorry for so many questions but I've been to quite a few shows now and have learnt the best people to ask are fellow t25 camper owners - it helps in saving time and getting the best info!!
