Front spring question....

Post by max and caddy »

Hi, can anybody tell me please which way round the front shock/ spring goes....my van has one each way and I don't have a Bentley, does the lower end of the spring need to be at the front of the van or at the rear? I see the top rubber seat has an arrow on possibly pointing in a forward direction....but again one has been fitted each way round on both my syncros!

Just to confirm tel conversation for anyone else interested, I checked the manual, repair group 40 page 13 says about the dampers:

Fitting position:
right: Spring stop to the front
left: Spring stop to the rear
Syncrosport (taking a break as of summer 2024)
Volkswagen Transporter, reloaded.

Yep, that's right! It seems that the front springs have a fitted position and without the manual to hand I doubt anyone could ever work out how they go....or why even! But mine are going on the correct way round now and glad I didn't just have a guess....clearer now?
