Spainish Hospitality

Post by CJRW42 »

In a couple of weeks I will be setting off on my drive from here to Gibraltar.

I will drive through France & Spain. Places to stop in France seem plentiful (aires) but the Spanish part seems more sparse.

I am looking for any recommendations where to stop near Salamanca. I am not looking for a campsite just the equivilant of an Aires.

Martin Dorney has just hit Spain on his travels so I am following his blog to see if he stops anywhere near Salamanca.

Has anyone got any suggestions or experiences :?:

Thanks.

Camp sites in inland Spain are few and far between where you are going so plan your journey carefully. I cannot advise as to campsites, but I suggest you check them out before you leave the UK. The last time I went this way the sites seemed to be about 200 miles apart.

Thanks Dave. Someone I know in Spain said that they were a lot more laid back about this (unlike over here) and as long as you did not look like you were making camp then you could go most places. But I am very happy to get your opinion.

Not sure if this might be a bit late? Or even something you've all seen already but

http://www.furgovw.org/mapa_furgoperfecto.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It's in Spanish but it's a pretty useful wildcamping site (that's website, not camping site... you get the drift!).
