Wild camping near Heysham docks

Post by Ian and Lins »

We are off to Th'isle of Man (sailing Sunday). Does any one know of a wild camping spot we could use on Saturday evening, or has any one overnighted on the docks themselves?
Are we going on anything else?

Not a great deal near the docks, the only car park near the docks has a hight barrier.
There is Half Moon Bay cafe which has a little parking space behind it, it's run by my windsurfing buddy Tony, if he's about he may let you stay there overnight.

Other than that the closest one I know of is here 54.007212, -2.896673

No idea if your OK to sleep in the dock car park or not.

I have overnighted on the shore rd on the dead end. I got there late and got up early very industrial and lots of trucks movilng around but no one bothered me. There are double yellows, but not accross the end where the boulders have been put to block off the rd!
