Grinding when slowing down

I have just got a T25 for the first time, used to my old LT28.
The first run out and there was a noticeable grinding noise when the van is slowing down, when I pulled the cap off on the drivers side there was oil or grease that had spun out of the center of the wheel. New wheel bearing required? Or is it an issue with the brakes, any suggestions would be helpful as Haynes hasn't arrived yet and supposed to be going on holiday in it on Thursday.

Brakes overheated recently or in the past, cooking the wheel bearing grease, causing it to spew out everywhere?

I'd have the wheel off and have a look before driving it anywhere.

Got the wheel off and the brakes were sticking as the wheel had loads of play at 12/6 and 9/3 so guessing the bearing gone have ordered on but does any one think I will need to change the inner one as well? The hub nut isnt in till the morning so cant do it till then and then we can get away.

Are you planning on re-using the disc? If not spray liberally with WD40 (or other similar agents) and leave it to soak for 24 hours. If, however, any part of the contact braking surfaces are to be re-used be very very careful with WD40 / releasing agent. Keep gently tapping (pref with soft faced hammer) from the rear all the way round.

Sometimes getting a bit of heating and cooling can help - but again be very careful what you use as a heat source as you're not too far away from fuel lines etc.

Hopefully someone will be along with rather more T25 pertinent advice but that's how I've got them off on other stubborn vehicles in the past.
