Zig unit plus battery charger?

Post by Andythesweep »

Been reading that the charger on a zig unit won't actually charge the leisure battery but rather maintain it,my question is would it be ok,when hooked up to 240v,to simply hook up a separate battery charger to the leisure battery whilst it's still connected to the zig?

No one? Is it safe to have another battery charger connected to mains hook up as well as the zig charger?

I wouldn't, but that's not based on any scientific analysis of connecting two dissimilar chargers in tandem, oh no, it's based on a gut feeling that it'll end in tears

What Zig is it? A CF8 will deliver up to 12 amps according to the manual.

you will confuse the chargers.. either one will think the batteries charged fully.

A zig is hard wired into the leisure loom.
I would assume you can select whether it goes on or not?

I have a trickle charger that is put on overnight, in the summer it's enough.
