Rad fan and heater blower not working

Firstly I know its two faults.

My Son is down in Italy been traveling since end of May

1986 Watercooled

Just had a call to say the heater blower has stopped working, this was on all the time helping to cool the engine as it 36deg down there. but it has also shown up that the Rad fan is not working also,
2 speed rad fan so shorted plug center pin to either side but fan not running, fuse ok. Do you think the fan motor has failed???

As to the heater blower any ideas? read it may have seized or be full or crap and a dash out job

Hello, from what i know[ not much] the heater/blower prone to giving up the ghost, dash out to replace or drill through front behind grill and lubricate bearings for temp' fix, don't forget to test the switch first. My rad fan gave me some grief last Summer, kept blowing fuses, had it checked out by auto electrician, all wiring ok so was advised to up the fuse from an 8 amp and had no problems since- it's only needed to come on once- the other week stuck/spinning in the queue/ mud at Camperjam. When i posted my problems on here last year i was told it is very rare for the rad fan itself to fail but you never know. A fair bit of info about this on here.
