Sliding door hinge extension

Post by jaret83mk1 »

I'm aware this topic has been covered before, and I am sure I've looked everywhere but cannot find anyone who supplies these hinge extensions.
This is what I've come across so far... http://archive.club8090.co.uk/viewtopic ... d681916f98" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Brickwerks & JustKampers don't seem to stock them any more, or I could just be looking in all the wrong places :?
Help would be wonderful as I'd love to be able to get into the back of my van :D

just get another standard hinge bar of a distmantled van and weld the two together this way you only end up with one weld making it loads stronger , than adding a length of equivalent sized bar in the centre of the hinge and needing 2 additional welds , i used to sell these but to do properly they take time as you need to chamfer the two parts of the hinge to get good penertration of weld or they can break , make shure you get the correct hinge for your van as there are 2 different types early up to 1983 and later
