Sorry to ask this as Im sure it used to be in the wiki - just cant find it!
Just refilling my 1.6d 4 speed box and would like to know how much gear oil is reccomended to put in.

just fill the gearbox to its starts to come out of the filler hole when the van is level

Only asked as I remember reading something where VW reduced the amount of oil the put in the boxes after a specific year to make shifts easier? Maybe I mad that up?
