Improved My Syncro's Ride Considerably Today!

Post by Mickyfin »

The garage I normally use to inflate my tyres was out of order today, so I headed off to use the garage up the road instead.

Upon checking my tyre pressures, I was shocked, all of them were between 50, and 60PSi

I'm guessing that the normal air pressure pump was faulty when I last used it, and over inflated my tyres quite a lot. No wonder the ride was hard, and feeling each and every single bump on the road.

I feel so lucky that I found this out, as I can't imagine what could of happened on a long run. Tyre exploding etc.

Anyway, I reduced the tyre pressures, and now running correct PSi for each tyre. 36PSi for the fronts, and 40PSi for the rears.

The ride is so much more comfortable, its unbelievable, I'm so glad that the first garage pump was out of order!

What size tyres are you running? I run 2.5 bar and 3.0 bar on 225/70/15

OE Carat alloys, with 205/70 R14 95T tyres, and the rating on the sticker inside drivers door states 36PSi fronts, and 40PSi rears.

Just calculated yours from bar to psi

2.5 bar = 36.2PSi
3.0 bar = 43.5PSi

Mickey, you won't nee the higher rear pressures like Andrew's running as he's talking diesel, not wbx (much heavier boat anchor out the back)
