body panels heritage vs schofields
I have just come to do my fuel filler area and got a schofields panel, anyway i thought the rest of the panel was fine so just cut out the fuel filler bit and weld that in place but i have since discovered rust at the bottom of the panel and i can stitch the remaining bit on as gap to big, so im going to buy a new panel and start again and im wondering if the heritage panel would be better fit/quality or are they from same source if anyone knows id appreciate the feedback thanks dave.

Re: body panels heritage vs schofields
we just fitted some new front outriggers to a van and went for schofields over JK/Heritage etc.
Although guage/thickness of metal was as good as OE, they took a fair bit of fettling to get closing panel/contact area to outer cill to fit. Also fitted a new complete front panel which i suspect was VWoSA (no schofields sticker which all of their made ones appear to have). Not quite as thick as german and needed a slight fettle- swage lines were good match though to front quarters.
I think they all need a fettle, just some more than others but at least Schofields appear to have edge on metal quality

Schofields seem to be the better company for repair panels at the minute.
However don't expect any repair panel to be right straight away unless its genuine VW. Even the stuff coming from brazil isn't perfect.
