Little red syncro doka
I assume I can put this link in. If I lived over there I would buy this thing in a heart beat. However what does interest me with this thing is the treasure chest. The spare wheel is in there?? Is this standard and if so why does my bulli not have this? Just really curios as I might just grab the grinder and start hacking away.Might even fit out the chest as a spare bedroom stick the kids down there
Very keen to hear your thoughts on the matter. Not the bed bit the other bit

Re: Little red syncro doka
I understand syncros had the cut out, while 2wd didn't.
Why? Who knows.

Re: Little red syncro doka
Its because the 2wd has a drop down wheel carrier and the Syncro has a bash plate, that's why it's under the back seat.

Re: Little red syncro doka
Apart from syncro caravelles that were fitted with the drop-down clamshell. The bash plate was a cost option, wasn't it?

Re: Little red syncro doka
It must be a 16" syncro doka thing as I have 14" syncro doka and no place for the spare wheel.

Re: Little red syncro doka
my 16" doka has it but i dont think either of the 14s (see dodokas...) did.
i dont generally keep the spare in there though. i currently have it covered with a piece of ply but it means i can ( with some contortion) get at stuff from the locker via the rear seat.
i think thats been useful ..um... about once.
come to think of it, it would be a very good space for another spare.

Re: Little red syncro doka
My 14" has the spare wheel under the rear seat/in the locker.. or did.. until I put the twin lpg tanks in there.. there was a bracket welded to the floor..
The front drop down was a cost option, dont think it was standard on any.. velles and vans had spares bolted in the back.. unless the front carrier was specced of course..
16" dont think the bigger wheels will go in the front drop down.. to big diameter.. I know Aidan runs a 204r14 in there, think that is all it will take..

Re: Little red syncro doka
You'd have thought that all pickup floorpans were the same. The floor and roof pressings are always the most expensive to make, so manufacturers keep variations to a minimum.

Re: Little red syncro doka
The floor prob is, the infill panel for the "bulkhead would only be doka specific.. maybe the same part as on a single cab...

Hi,
Regarding a low milage Doka!
Mine had 57000km and is about in the same good shape !
But still if you think you will get a problemfree car , forget it!
You still have replace a lot off parts as the car is 25 years old and its a ex firetruck so that means lots of holes everwhere and milage of surplus electricty cables! On the list this coming vacation!
The fuellines
the waterhoses (big ones under the van)
service
Brakes
The good thing I guess is that there is no rust and the engine runs like a dream!
