fuel and temp gauge

hi i have a couple of simple questions.
do the temp and fuel gauge from the clock fit into the revcounter. is this year related/part number related.

i have a 91 dj and i want to fit a rev counter to the dash pod.

VW T25 Genuine temperature guage insert for fitting into rev counter dial only

It a different shape and part number to the version fitted into analogue clock or 'blanked' dial

Removed from a 1991 petrol engined Caravelle
