Cam belt replacement?

Post by Cooper »

So I've got a 1.9td aaz engine.
Changed from a 1.6td

I need to replace the cam belt but not sure which one I need?
Also I was told I need to replace a hose at the same time as standard.
What hose is this?

Cambelt kit : http://www.brickwerks.co.uk/shop?page=s ... gory_id=59" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

And a sump gasket: http://www.justkampers.com/shop/0441036 ... 13692.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Are these the right ones?

look behind your cam cover at the tensioner. belt is the same. early is metal tensioner, late is plastic tensioner. that's the way to tell.

Not sure what hose your on about. Must admit, never changed any hose at same time as doing belts on any aaz.

Hello,

I can't think either what hose you'd need to change - is it possible you were recommended to change the water pump? Sometimes that's advised as it's accessible once you've got the covers and harmonic balancer off. Out of interest, why are you changing the sump gasket at the same time?

water pump's not driven from cam belt so no need to replace at same time.

of course, but I have heard some places recommend changing it when doing the cambelt, as and I was just wondering if perhaps that was something to do with the "hose" that was referred to.
