Hi, been doing some research here.
The BAD news is Bertie has got the dreaded stripped sump nut problem. What I'm thinking of doing is ReTap to M16 x 1.5 and fit a suitable sump nut with an allen key fitting.
Has anyone else done this ? Anything else better ?
Garage where Bertie is say they are willing to do it !
Thanks for looking
Michael

Re: 2.1 Sump nut
Yes the next plug is M16 (renault) but it is not an M16 hole, you need a 15mm drill. and then an M16 X 1.5 tap
You need a VERY steady hand.
you need to drill out the new hole VERY accurately
you need to drill the hole as oil is dribbling out of the plug hole to keep the swarf out of the sump.

Re: 2.1 Sump nut
Hi Kev,
Took your advice about drilling first. Tap went in quite easy really, it was brand new mind (£25 quid !)
New sump nut seem to fit nice and flush, I suppose only time will tell.
I'm certainly having fun with Bertie
Thanks again.
