More done today
Upholstered the R&R bed foam, wired the thermostat in for the heater, cut a big hole in the floor for the table stand and re trimmed 2 door cards and the back of the bed.

Today we have fitted 3 point harnesses in the back for our lads aged 6 and 4, removed the front bench seat, cut the bulk head out behind the seats, fitted a new passenger seat and fitted an immobiliser.
Hi there, I have a question about your rear seat belts as I have 2 young daughters who will probably be 4 and 6 by the time my van is finished.
What will you do with the seat belts once you are set up to camp? Will they be in the way as they are attached to the roof?

Hi there. Roof isnt lined at the minute but will be soon hopefully lol. The seatbelts are attached with 'Delta type quick links' which we remove each time we park up. We then put the seat belts down the back of the rock and roll bed. They are then not visible when parked. It is then very easy to lift the belts back out to re-attach. (The 4 lower seatbelt mounts obviously stay attached as they are bolted to the floor) If you need any more help, please feel free to contact me again
Thanks Helen. Any close up pictures of the belt fixing points would be great, but no rush. Was the MOT man ok with that? Looks like a great idea anyway and one that I think I may use. Jon.

Our van hasn't been through an MOT yet since they have been fitted so cant really answer that question but, in my experience, things that cant be seen, cant be tested. in other words remove the belts before you go for the test. My number 1 priority is the safety of my children and I know in my own mind that they are 100% safe wearing the harnesses. Formula 1 cars would not pass an MOT but the driver is safely harnessed.
just trial fitted my new wheels .the van is standard height and has a crap gear ratio so the new tyres will be 205/70/15 it will need 10mm spacers at the front and i will fit the same at the rear what do you think ?
195/70 X 15 will give a perfect circumference match
what you suggest is 2% bigger so the revs will be 2% lower and changing gear will be earlier on the hill

yep i do want to lower the revs but im not sure if 205/70/15 will look daft
