Not being funny, but if you cant get the cam belt cover off, do you think you are ok to change the cambelt?

Do I need to replace a hose at the same time as the cam belt?

I'm not sure. Went to a mechanics car part shop. Talked about my van said I need a new cam belt and he said " we can do the work here for you!" " I would change the ...hose as well as it can go with the cam belt."

Maybe the water hose?

If it offends you then im sorry, but the truth is, going by your previous posts, you have little knowledge of mechanics (nothing to be ashamed of) To attempt to tackle a cam belt replacement without knowledge, or the correct tools is heading for the sudden death of your engine. Let somebody experienced do it for you.
If you cant afford it, then im affraid youve bought the wrong type of vehicle.
Thats correct, I haven'y met you, and I still wonder if you actually exist.

Nope just annoys me a bit. Learn as I go generally , been told tricks to change cam belt and will have some help but I want to do mostly on my own otherwise I'll never learn.

Definitly can't afford to pay someone to do it. But my bro in law is a mechanic which is good.
Dads stripped and re build cars and such.

I've mainly worked on body work so my mechanical side isn't great.

Can I just ask why do you think I don't exist?
