Dashboard lights "inverted"

Post by rosco »

Hi folks, I did a search for this but cant find anything..

Basically my dashboard lights are inverted, i.e. when the headlights are on the dial lights go out, and when the headlights are off the dial lights go on! Also, when on dipped beam the main beam warning (blue light) lights up, but when on main beam it goes off!!

Any ideas where to start? Another member suggested cleaning the earth thingys so I'll start there I guess but failing that? Has anyone experienced this before?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

My guess is that there is a problem with your headlight switch, they can have problems pulling too many amps through them (which is why people do the relay upgrade) could be a wire is melted or someone has put the connectors back on the wrong way.

Thanks a lot, I'll take a look at that. Is it fairly easy to get into the switches?

Also I will look up that relay upgrade. Cheers.
