Fuel pump pushrod

Post by Tug »

Hi,

Can anyone shed any light on the myth that...if you convert your type 4 engine (cu etc) to an electric fuel pump and remove the mechanical pump along with the pushrod..You change the flow of lubricant in the engine....is their any truth in this ?

Im just trying to resolve why my followers on number 3 pot rattle every now and then when the oil is up to temp. It has happened since I removed the mech pump and fitted a cover plate.

I originally adjusted all my followers to 1.5 turns..and the engine was sweet. Now I have removed the mech pump number 3 rattles every now and then usually when i accelarate. It is the followers on 3 because I slackened them off to just 1 turn on the adjuster and its a lot quieter now..but it is still their..

Any ideas
