Rear air vents

Post by pandp38 »

Hi there
Does anyone know if the air vents at the rear end of the T25 leading to engine bay are neccessary on the water cooled model? Am asking question as I would like to utilise the space in the engine compartment for storing tools but dont want to compromise engine cooling.
Thanks

Yes despite having water in it, there still air cooled by the flow of air over the engine when in motion and allows the heat to escape when your not.

The offside one is normally filled with a pointless warm air unit (our's has the lpg vapouriser unit in there instead) and I have filled the other side (where the battery is on a diesel) with the diesel tank for our Ebberspacher.

When I was spraying all my plastic trim bits last year I removed my rear air vents and found that a previous owner had installed clear plastic sheets over the opening, so no air was circulating through mine!! :? I didn't replace the plastic when I re-installed the vents
