Re: New Door Cards
First one finished and fitted.

Quite pleased with the result.
The second one is finished but it's too hot to be buggering about fitting it.

Re: New Door Cards
Looks great mate. What type of material did you use? The stretchy carpet type?

Re: New Door Cards
Jaein, I used arseosol repositionalbe contact adhesive to hold the carpet in place and used proper contact adhesive to stick the edges to the back of the card.
I remove the thin layer of foam from the back of the carpet before glueing the edges.

Re: New Door Cards
Nice job!
I was thinking about making up some door cards and speaker pods myself and this is just the inspiration I needed!

Cool. Will be on the look out in our local hardware stores for the necessary stuff to do all mine. You planning on doing your other interior cards Paul?

Re: New Door Cards
Micky - the door cards were the last two on the list.
I did the others sometime back.

Re: New Door Cards
Oh right, ok
I will soon be moving onto my interior as soon as I have finished the underbody, and the odd cutting out rusted areas on the body. I'm going to have a look around a few hardware stores tomorrow to see if I can find any suitable pvc type sheets, but failing that I will go with marine grade ply. 3mm.

Re: New Door Cards
That would be my preferred option, marine ply sealed with either epoxy or varnish will be perfect.Mickyfin wrote:Oh right, ok....but failing that I will go with marine grade ply. 3mm.
