subaru help with install please,advice,ideas

Post by ray63 »

hi folks.i,m new to the vw scene.took me years to get one as life raced by.ive bought a t25 air cooled tin top.it originally came with a 1790 cc air cooled.the guy i bought it from is a vehicle technician and he suppplied it with a 2.5 non turbo subaru.ej25 i think,in a box with the harness and ecu etc.he said he ran the engine whilst still in the car with around 60,000 on the clock.he did,nt have the time to finish it so sold it.now ive been looking for good air cooled engines to swing in and havent had much luck or good words about them so have decided to go with the engine supplied.what i,m after is any advice with help installing it and help with a cam belt change.a basic recon really to clean it up before i put it in.i live near oxford so any advice on where to go to get me started on this would be very much appreciated.i can transport the van to most places but nearer the better.i met a lad at the malvern bug meet last year and he had a nice t25 caravelle, metalic blue with air con that he was showing with a subaru engine he,d put in on his drive and thats what made me get a t25 because they look so good and have a heart.thanks for reading this and hope i get this sorted.dying to get out and travel in her.

its not cheap but it is spot on stuff
plus dont forget you need to add all the watercooling stuff ala watercooled wedges, prob cheaper to get a donor van to rape of all the bits
