Caravelle seat arms query
I've got a Caravelle Syncro with the middle seat bench of two seats. Can anyone tell me how you remove the side arms? I need to take one of them off in order to make space for something. I've looked in the Bentleys.........

The wiki tells you how to take the lifting arms off, but I don't mean those, I mean the fixed ones on the middle bench. No visible means of support!

Might be easier to undo the bolts on the bottom rail take off the alu cover on the step, lift the carpets and slide the seats out.. make for loads of space and you wont damage the seats..

Re: Caravelle seat arms query
What I'm doing is fitting a second set of seat rails, so the middle row can be reversed (to face backwards) when required. Once reversed, they can still be used as ordinary seats (because the seat belts move with them), but the main purpose of the exercise is to provide an occasional dining area. My plan is to fit a table mounting rail to the side panel (suitably reinforced), and then have a table that fits there, with a supporting leg. So have get a table, with four seats around it, but you can easily put the seats back, put the table away, and you're back to a bus. I've done a 'dry run', and it looks as if it will work quite well.
Now we get to the tricky bit, and the reason for wanting to remove one of the arms. The next part of my wacky plan is to built a removable kitchen unit, which will travel alongside the (reversed) middle row (obviously only when we're going camping. The rest of the time it'll live in the shed). By removing the outer arm, I can free up a couple more inches of space, and when the bench is the 'right way round', that side of the bench will be against the side panel anyway. It should gain three or four inches, which is a lot when you're building a kitchen cabinet.
This is all in my head (and notebook) at the moment, but I'll let you know how I get on. Thing is, how do you reomve that arm?
