Relay help needed

Just been out to fit my lights on buzzer relay.This relay was in the slot.Its number is 431 951 253.Can anyone tell me what this relay is likely to be for.

Which relay in the pic Rob, 42 ? If so, 42 is for the low water level sensor circuit.
p.s. = The same item as relay 43 btw, just different design inside. Oh and of course it is not a relay but quite a complex little circuit.

Its the one on the lower left.Next to No 18 john.

Is that not hazards/indicator relay?

The indicators and hazards work with it removed.And the lights on buzzer fitted in its place.

This = http://www.brick-yard.co.uk/VehicleSpec ... /relay.htm says "relief relay X contact (wipers?)" [pt No.] 191 937 503. Sorry, that's not very definitive is it :roll:

relay 18 is Load Reduction Relay (turns you headlights etc. off when starting)

Coupled with Brickwerks =

According to the b/yard link.Position No7 on the board is for fog lamps.So i recon thats my answer.

Glad you tracked it down. Went out to check mine for you too Rob, but I don't have a relay there as no fog lights fitted to my Syncro.

Theres no fogs on my velle.And no sign there ever has been.But the relay is there.Maybe VW put it in just in case.
