Westy big bumpers and side planking.

Hi Guys

Want to remove bumpers and side planking on my Westy Atlantic, to enable me to renovate front bumper and respray all.

Bumpers don't appear to be too difficult, but where/how do you begin to remove the side planking

Your expert guidance will be much appreciated.

Look up underneath the edge of the planking, you should see some 10mm hex bolts.
Release these, pull the lower edge of the plank out toward you and lift it up.

The bolts will be very rusty so use a 6 point hex socket and not a 12 pointer.
Some will break and other will be too rusty to reuse.

Simon at Brickwerks does supply stainless ones.

Get squirting the penetrating fluid up there now and they should be free for the weekend.
