loud noise
recently when driving i have heard a loud noise coming underneath the van.it sounds like something rubbing noise,it is so loud when going around 40mph its hard to hear someone talk.i dont think its bearings as i have just had 2 rears done and i have just had 12 months mot done from the garage so if there was any play they would have told me as they are quite strict.after about driving for half an hour or so and stopping and going to do something for about 15/20 mins and getting back in the driving/rubbing the noise has gone again.any ideas?cheers dave

Re: loud noise
Could have been a stone stuck between the stone guard and the brake disk, not unheard of. You mention rear bearings having recently been done so I guess you think it is from the rear though. I take it it was road speed related ? If so I would defo get it checked out as it could be a safety or big money (driveshafts ?) affair !

Re: loud noise
Scraping noises are often caused by the rear wheel bearings, lateral play allows the drum to move across and rub against the back plate. This is most noticeable at low speeds on tight corners.
Pray the garage have installed Brickwerks/OEM bearings NOT the chinky chocolate ones sold by GSF, the cheap ones have a VERY limited lifespan
