The fridge should only work on 12v when driving. It will flatten a battery in a few hours without the engine running.

Why do you think its not working on 12V - what are your indications that it isnt working??

Sorry - I wasn't 'just' asking a stupid question but have found that its pretty difficult to tell that the 12v is working (i.e. on mine there is no reassuring 'hum' or any other obvious indication) and you'll prob find that it may takes hours to actually cool noticably ........

.... but if it is definately not working then I'd start with checking that the 12v terminals (on top of the fridge) are getting a good 12v supply (when they should, i.e. when engine is running).

Ours works on all 3 sources but...... will only keep it cold, not "get" it cold when operating on 12v. So I would change your test to if the back warms up at all, rather than if the fridge gets cold as it will take an age to notice the inside getting cold

This may seem obvious but sometimes it is easy to forget the basics. Have you checked the fuse on the circuit?
