multivan/caravelle seats - differences?
I've got a Caravelle, but want to put a proper folding bed seat in the back. Can you simply swap in a multivan seat? Are there are differences in the mountings or sizes? What about T4 seats - will they do the job? Any help gratefully received.

multivan seats are narrower as the side panels are moulded plastic which are thicker than caravelle panels so they make up the difference in width , if not you end up with a big gap between seat and side panels, also locating pins are in a different position , best to buy a caravelle seat what folds into a bed usually quite costly as they are rare in caravelles but if you watch ebay they come up fairly often i managed to pick two up last year even though they were both at the other end of the country ,

Caravelle rock and roll beds are fairly rare, they fit using the same mounting points as the standard caravelle seats and fit with the existing interior cards and seat belt mounts
Multivan rock and roll beds fit using different securing points which won't be in a caravelle - so you have to drill and use bolts and spreaderplates or rivnuts and require support for the back which is provided by the plastic interior cards which also take up the 2 1/1" gap between each side of the seat and the normal van interior cards - seatbelt mounts are the same, but the multivan seat id slightly further forward so the shorter caravelle c inertia reel belts are a bit tight for adults who aren't skinny and may not be ok with booster seats - I don't know I don't have kids - the longer belts are still available but best part of £100 each
the plastic interior cards are lhd only so if used in a rhd van will require major surgery to use the table and the cards
