Rocker cover gasket

Post by stevengthomas »

Hi
I replaced the rocker cover gaskets on my 2.0 air cooled at the weekend and found out the vans still leaking oil from the pushrod tubes. Will I have to replace these again when I change the tube seals.
Thanks in advance.
Steve.

You might get away with it if you havent used silicone sealant to fit em. I've re-used them plenty of times but it would be a good idea to order more and carry a set in the van for an easy and quick future roadside repair.
Incidentally, I've long since given up on the just kampers push rod tube gaskets, they're dire. Last set I had were from Cool Air, the larger seals are green and last ages.
Good luck.

Hello,

Have you got the wingy wongy springs that hold the pushrod tubes in place. :?:

As said above, use only OE quality oil seals, else you will always have leaks. :?:

Have you got the rocker box clips on the right way round

I never use silicone goop, grease only.

Always carry spare gaskets.

Cordialement,

:ok
