Camping price hike (in some cases)!!!

Post by Cruz »

Whilst there are many many charming sites where there prices remain in the real world there are plenty of sites who's prices really take the mick

Just checked out Masons Farm in appletreewick. I haven't been here since just after it changed hands 4/5 years ago when it was about £12 a night.

There website says £19 a night with hookup but imagine my shock when their online booking system brought up a price of £56.50 for TWO nights (fri and saturday) . Thats £28.25 a night for parking in a field!!!!!

This was without hookup

The site I stay on wants 1200 quid for the 6 week holidays. Sod that. The Winnebagos going into storage and I'm off to Bulgaria for the summer.
Martin.

Diesel is an engine not a fuel.

I liked camping so much I went full time.

Yes some are getting greedy which is a shame. Went to a site in Cheddar last year and van me and missus no hookup £28 PER NIGHT ! Do the sums, space for 150 units at £28 a night = £4200 X 7 = £29,400 a week plus hookup. That is greedy and I will say that the site mid season was less than a third full, shame as if the charges were fair it would probably be full.

Yup thats are plan aswell. We are heading to Drayton Manor Park soon and I noticed there was a C&CC site there. £68 for 2 nights ! :rofl

It was cheaper to stay in the Travelodge a couple of miles away for £58 including breakfast which seems crazy.

What we need are club members with a bit of land who will charge a fiver a night from the four corners of the country. Pity I only have a very small semi  with a short driveway.

campings not a cheap holiday anymore between the price of diesel, petrol and gas for the cooker and site fees we could all have a holiday in some apartment abroad
but then wheres the fun in that
i try and save a bit with buying food in aldi when away its good enough for our euro friends that come over here usually the aldi carparks are full of euro regi numbers
has anyone noticed that the fuel in the highlands apart from being the most expensive well its not very good it dont last aslong
and if were looking for a site and see the ccc logo we drive on by to expensive

Don't know why these Euro people come over here tbh. Am just back from a couple of weeks in France and Germany using ACSI book for discounts so 12 to 16 Euro for three of us inc Electric and entertainment (swimming pools, bouncy castles etc) for the bairn. Could be Fuel anything between €1.18 in Luxembourg to €1.28 in France and the beer and wine even cheaper. Most places free parking too.
