leisure battery

Post by owlvan »

Hi - I am about to fit a leisure battery into my 1981 T25 Aircooled van. Does anyone know which battery fits into the space below the passenger seat? So far the batteries I've been looking at online are either too high or too long. I want to fit as high amp as I can. Are the gaps under the passenger seat all the same size? Mine is H6" L12" W7".
Cheers 8)

I used batteryman recommended on Wiki - service was very impressive, battery fits like a glove. They knew of restrictions and mentioned them when I payed. It was free delivery and here in 2 days.

Ditto.

Just be careful to cover the terminals with some insulating material or better still use those plastic terminal covers. Nearly fried myself because I didn't think it would happen to me.

I used an old car inner tube and spray glued two sections underneath the cover to avoid any possibility of terminal to metal lid contact.
That plus the plastic terminal covers.
