how to fit 18'' merc alloy?

Post by KR1S 76 »

Got some alloy for my T3... These are the 18'' merc alloys ...
Specs. are: 18x8j ET37.
I am trying to figure things out to try and fit them as best possible.
Front fit well without spacers... But I cannot fit the alloy caps, so I am going to try and fit a 5 or 6 mm spacer and longer stud conversion...
-Would it be possible to fit a 10mm spacer and offset it to 27, when ET on originals are 30 & ive read that it sould not be under that?

Still have not tried to fit rear ones but thought that it would have to be the same as fronts... Right? Will also need longer stud conversion.
Would anyone know what studs I need...

Please any help & suggestions would be much appreciated...

Thanks

Not sure where you've read that under ET30 isn't acceptable but it's the wrong information.

Very surprised that 8X18's ET37 alloys fit on the front without fouling the top wishbone as I've had a quite a few vans with 8X18's and they were all fitted with spacers to bring the ET down to around 28.
Did you just fit them with the van jacked up in the air by any chance?

Anyway....10mm spacers front and rear will work well.
Brickwerks sell the longer rear studs and front stud conversion kits.
There's no 'r' in bought!
