Replaced ignition switch......

Post by TravellingChick »

So a little more info on the barrel.

Apparently he turned the key, got dash lights and click but no ignition. Turned it back but key wouldn't release so he pulled and the ignition barrel came out. He pushed it back in.

Now I can't get the ignition out - the hole was in the right position but I think it's gone back in wrong. I also think the new switch is faulty as I can get dash lights and click with the old switch unattached to the barrel but not the new switch.

The starter motor was reconditioned 3 years ago.

Can't seem to find new ignition barrel/keys on GSF website tho.

Frustrated.com.

Thanks Martin, unfortunately I'm very much an inexperienced tinker so removing the starter motor is beyond my skills.
